Ina is an area located in the southeastern part of Nagano prefecture. It includes the cities of Ina, Komagane, and Iida. It is located between the Southern Alps and the Central Alps, and you can see the majestic landscape of the 3,000 meter mountains.
For sightseeing, the spots where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Alps Mountains such as Senjojiki Cirque, Shimoguri-no-Sato Valley, and Tenryu River Boat Tour are popular. Each season's different views are attractive, but spring is especially recommended if you visit Ina. The cherry blossoms of Takato Castle Ruins Park in Ina are such a magnificent sight that it is called "the best cherry blossoms in the world.” At the time of flowering, about 1,500 Takato Kohiganzakura (higan cherry) trees are in full bloom and tourists visit from across the country.
It is convenient to have a car for getting around this area. From major cities, you can get here by car, train or bus. From Tokyo Station to Ina Station in the center of this region, it takes about 4 hours by train. Express buses from Shinjuku take about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
