Kurobe Travel Guide

Kurobe is a region located in the northeastern part of Toyama prefecture.  It includes the cities of Kurobe, Uozu, Namerikawa, and Shimoniikawa.

For sightseeing, there is Kurobe Gorge, said to be the deepest canyon in Japan, where you can feel the beautiful majesty of nature. The Kurobe River running through the canyon leads to the Kurobe Dam in the Tateyama area. We also recommend the Kurobe Gorge Railway, which allows you to enjoy the view of Kurobe Gorge. In addition, there is Unazuki Onsen near the canyon, and you can enjoy hot springs in rich nature.

You can get around this area by train or car.  Please use the Hokuriku bullet train, the Toyama Chiho Railway Main line or the Ainokaze Toyama Railway.  From Tokyo to Kurobe-Unazuki Onsen Station, it takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes by bullet train.
