About the Tajimi Mino Pottery Museum

This is a museum exhibiting the specialty ceramics of Gifu Prefecture called "Mino". You can enjoy a variety of Mino items such as teapots and teacups, all the way to very serious items such as divine tools. Several people from Tajimi City have been designated as living national treasures, including the Mino potter Arakawa Toyozo. At the museum there is a permanent exhibition of Mino pottery, and 4-5 times per year there are planned exhibits that open up. There are sweets and green tea on sale in the rest area (400 yen), and you can also buy stylish Mino items in the store. During the summer vacation there is also a parent-child workshop held.

By car it is about 15 minutes from the Chuo Expressway on Tajimi IC (多治見), or on the Tokai-Kanjo Expressway (東海環状自動車道) take Toki-Minami-Tajimi IC. For bus access, from Tajimi Station (多治見駅) you can take the Kikyou Bus (Oribe Route) and then get off at the Mino Museum stop (美濃焼ミュージアム前). Please be aware that the bus only runs on weekends and holidays.
