Mimasaka Travel Guide

Mimasaka is a region located in the northern part of Okayama prefecture which borders Hyogo prefecture and Tottori prefecture.  It includes the cities of Mimasaka, Tsuyama, and Maniwa and the county of Kume.

The area is full of natural sightseeing spots. Among them, Yubara Onsen, which spreads along the Asahikawa River, and Hiruzen Jerseyland, where you can see dairy cows up close, are popular. For those who are interested in history, we recommend Joto Conservation Area of the Historic Townscape and Tsuyama Castle (Tsuruyama Park).

You can get around this area by car or conventional railway.  From Okayama Station to Tsuyama Station, it takes about 1 hour by train.
