Sapporo Art Park

Sapporo Art Park located in the hilly areas of Minami-ku, Sapporo, it is an open-air art museum. The museum opened in 1986 with a purpose to redefine art and culture in the North. Construction was completed in 1999. The area of the park is 40 hectares, it hosts 73 sculptures by Japanese and foreign sculptors. The sculptures reveal their new shapes every season.

Additionally, there are various workshops and schools throughout the park, offering a first-hand sculpture-making experience. They also cater to group visitors. The park also has a stage, where various events and concerts are held.

Business hours between June and August are between 9:45-17:30. From September till May – 9:45-17:00. Between November 4 and April 28 closed on every Monday (if the Monday is a public holiday, closed on the following Tuesday). 


Train: Get off at Mako-manai Station on Sapporo City Metro. At platform 2 take Hokkaido Chuo Bus. Get off at "Geijutsu-no-mori iriguchi" bus stop.

Car: 23 km towards Shikotsu Lake on the road 453.
