Hanshin is a region located in the eastern part of Hyogo prefecture. It includes the cities of Takarazuka, Amagasaki, Itami, Nishinomiya, Ashiya, Sanda, and Kawanishi, and the county of Kawabe. It is next to Osaka so Osaka is easily accessible from this area.
Tourist attractions include the The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum honoring Tezuka Osamu, the famous cartoonist, and Cherry blossoms at the Shukugawa Park, where 1,000 trees are in full bloom in spring. There is Takarazuka Grand Theater, home of the Takarazuka Revue Company, whose fans come to visit from all over the country.
You can get around this area by train and car. The nearest airport is Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) and it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to fly there from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.
