What is Toei Uzumasa Movie Studio Park?

Toei Uzumasa Movie Studio Park, which opened in 1975, is a part of Toei Kyoto Studio, a production, distribution, and box office company, and is an amusement facility where many aspects of filmmaking can be experienced. Visitors can watch period dramas being filmed, walk through Edo-period sets and experience other various attractions. A major theme park in Western Kyoto, approximately 59 million people have visited the Movie Studio Park to date.

Visitors are able to take photos on set using the same makeup and costumes as period film actors. For children, there are also Kamen Rider character shows, "Ninja Class" where they can experience being a ninja, and other attractions.

There is also a cultural museum of filmmaking, exhibiting many valuable and historical materials, where visitors can learn about the history of Japanese cinema.


5 minute walk from the Uzumasa Station on the JR Sagano Line or 5 minute walk from the Uzumasa Ko-ryuji Station on the Keifuku Dentetsu Arashiyama Line.
