Uda Travel Guide

Uda is a region located in the northeastern part of Nara prefecture.  It includes the city of Uda and the county of Uda.

For sightseeing, there are places like the traditional townscape of Uda-Matsuyama, developed as a castle town during the Warring States period (1467-1590), Hase-dera Temple, famous for peony flowers, Muro-ji Temple, one of the few temples which admitted woman, and others. In addition, from the beginning of April to the end of April is cherry blossom season and you can see the 300 year old Matabei Zakura tree and beautiful shidarezakura cherry blossoms at Oono-dera Temple.

It is convenient to have a car for getting around this area.  From major cities, you can take the Kintetsu Osaka line to the nearest station.  It takes about 1 hour to get from Osaka Station to Hasedera Station.
