Yokkaichi Travel Guide

Yokkaichi is a region located in the northern part of Mie prefecture.   It includes the cities of Yokkaichi, Kuwana, and Inabe and the town of Komono.

Sightseeing spots include famously beautiful illuminations of Nabana-no-Sato and Nagashima Spaland, which are very popular with families in the whole Kansai area.  Other than that, we also recommend spots where you can enjoy nature in this area, such as Mt. Gozaisho-dake and Yunoyama Onsen.

The city of Yokkaichi is also know for a festival held in August annually, the Toride Shrine kujira-bune gyoji (whale boat event), which was registered as UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016. Don’t miss this unique opportunity if the timing of your trip coincides with this event.

It is convenient to have a car for getting around this area.  From major cities, you can get to Yokkaichi Station by train and airplane.  From Tokyo, take the bullet train to Nagoya then change to the Kintetsu railway for Yokkaichi.  It takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes.
