Enjoy the radium-enriched waters of the Yunoyama Onsen

The Yunoyama Onsen is located in Mie Prefecture, Mie-gun. It is said to have a history of almost 1300 years, and is also said to be a place where even wounded deer would immerse themselves to heal their wounds, and so it is known as the "Deer Onsen". It is an alkaline spring with radium in it, which is said to work well with external wounds and neuralgia, and was commonly used by injured soldiers in war times. The hot springs are also good for your skin.

Yunoyama Onsen has more than 10 inns where you can bathe and enjoy the hot springs even without staying overnight. The inns here have both open-air baths and private baths so it is a good spot to enjoy a soak with family.

Access

By car, take the Higashi-Meihan Highway to Yokkaichi IC (四日市). Parking is different for each facility. On the Kintetsu, the Yunoyama Onsen Station is the nearest station (湯の山温泉駅). Your best bet is to visit the onsen by taking a bus or taxi from Yunoyama Onsen Station.
