Chiba East Coast is a region located in the eastern part of Chiba prefecture. It includes the town of Kujukurimachi and the cities of Isumi, Katsuura and Kamogawa.
For sightseeing, there are many spots related to the sea such as "Kamogawa Sea World" aquarium, where you can observe sea creatures close up, as well as Katsuura Under Sea Park, Niemonjima Island, and the Tainoura sea bream sightseeing boat. Kujukurihama, with its impressive shallow coast, is a popular place to take a scenic drive in Chiba Prefecture. In spring, the best time to see nanohana (rape blossoms), you can enjoy the scenery while riding the Isumi railway.
It is convenient to have a car for getting around this area. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get from central Tokyo to Kujukurimachi. If you go by train, you can take the Sotobo line or the Isumi line.
