For sightseeing, there are plenty of natural spots such as Hitsujiyama Park where shibazakura (phlox) blossoms spread across the ground like a flower carpet, and Nagatoro line descent, where a beautiful valley can be crossed by boat. Other than that, we also recommend historic shrines and temples such as Chichibu Shrine, Hodosan Shrine, and Mitsumine Shrine.
You can get around this region by car, train, or bus. You can take bullet or conventional trains from major cities to Chichibu station or Seibu-Chichibu Station. From Tokyo Station, it takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes by conventional train.
