The Miura City Misaki Seafood Regional Wholesale Market is a fish market in Miura City. The locals call it the "Misaki Uoichiba" and it is beloved by city residents. In any given day at the market over 400~1000 tuna fish are traded which has given it a reputation as one of Japan’s largest tuna fishing ports. Other items such as sardines, mackerel, alfonsino, and squid are trades as well.
From the second floor walkway you can watch fish being traded in the market. The observation hours are from 8:00~9:30 in the morning. There is also a restaurant called the Misaki Shokudo on the second floor where you can enjoy fresh seafood such as tuna and dishes made with local vegetables.
You can take the Keikyu to Misakiguchi Station and from there take a Keikyu Bus headed for Misaki-ko or Toriya; ride the bus to Misaki-ko Bus Station and from there it is a 5 minute walk. If you are visiting by car, take the Yokohama-Yokosuka Road to Kinugasa IC and from the interchange it is 40 minutes to the market.
