What is the Crafts Gallery?
The Crafts Gallery opened in 1977 as an annex of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. It exhibits crafts and design art works from modern to contemporary. The museum was renovated from The Headquarters of the Imperial Guards which was built in 1910, and it has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. It is located in Kita-no-maru Park, and it is possible to walk there in about 3 minutes from the main building.
Since Fine Art exhibitions and special exhibitions are held here, the museum may occasionally be closed for exhibition replacement. Therefore, please make sure to check the website in advance.
Opening hours and entry fee
Opening hours are from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last entry time being until 4:30 PM. The Fine Art exhibition fee is 210 yen for adults, and 70 yen for university students. Entry is free for guests under 18 and above 65 years old. The entry fees will differ depending upon the contents of the exhibition, so please check in advance.
About a 3-minute walk from the nearest station,“Takebashi Station” on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line.
