The Sony Building

The Sony Building is a multi-storeyed structure that opened in April, 1966. Managed by the Sony Corporation, the building boasts a Sony merchandise showroom, function rooms, retail shops and various restaurants. On the first floor entrance hall there is a JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) certified tourist information center for overseas visitors. Here, you can receive information about the tourist attractions of Ginza or use the free Wi-Fi.

The Sony Building is closed New Year’s Day and during on-site inspection days. Hours of business vary depending on the individual outlet.


The closest subway station is Ginza Station, accessible via the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. By taking the B9 exit, it is possible to go directly to the Sony Building by means of an underground passage. If you use the JR line or the Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line, the nearest station is Yūrakuchō Station. From the station, it is possible to walk to the Sony building in five minutes.
