The Shiseido Gallery is an art gallery located in Ginza, Tokyo. Its mission is the “Discovery and Creation of New Beauty”. Having opened its doors in 1919, it now holds pride of place as Japan’s oldest existing gallery. To date, the museum has held over 3000 exhibitions. From the 1990s onward, the focus of the museum has been the exposition of contemporary art. The Shiseido Gallery has since garnered an illustrious history of introducing contemporary artworks. With an eye to fostering individual artistic development, the gallery invites public contributions for the ‘Shiseido Art Egg’ project. The winning entry is exhibited in an annual exhibition of public artworks.
Opening Hours are 11 : 00-19 : 00, with the exception of Mondays when the gallery is closed. On Sundays and Public Holidays, the gallery is open from 11 : 00-18 : 00.
The closest station is Ginza Station via the Tokyo Metro Ginza line, the Tokyo Metro Marunōchi line and the Tokyo Metro Hibiya line. The destination is approximately a 5 minute walk from the station. For those using the JR line, please disembark at Shimbashi Station.
