This Buddhist temple is located in Dazaifu, Fukuoka Prefecture. It was founded in 1273 by Tetsugyu Enshin.
It is known for its beautiful moss garden. This is "karesansui" garden type. "Karensansui" means dry garden without ponds or streams. The only karensansui garden in Kyushu is located in this temple. It is famous for its autumn leaves in autumn and draws a lot of visitors.
5 minutes from Dazai-fu Station on Nishi-Tetsu Line. Car: 15 minutes from "Daziafu" IC on Kyushu Expressway. Paid parking.
