About the Semi-Submerged Tour Boat Marine Star
The Semi-Submerged Tour Boat Marine Star is a tourism boat that lets you see Okinawa’s tropical fish and coral reefs up close. Rather than a submarine, it is a semi-submerged boat and only the guest room portions descend into the ocean like an elevator, which allows guests to explore underwater without the entire ship going underwater. The overall experience is very pressure-free and you get to enjoy the underwater life in a very carefree manner. The boat offers an experience that is almost exactly like diving except without the need to actually get into the water, so it is an excellent experience for people who don’t like swimming or diving. The actual cruise experience starts with a normal above-water cruise, and once you get to the point where the reefs and tropical fish are located, you can move into the submerged section of the boat. This lets you to enjoy the sea in all its grandeur both above and below the water, so you can fully appreciate the wonders of the Okinawan sea.
By railway, get off at Miebashi Station and from there you can take a taxi to the Tomari Port North Pier (泊港北岸) where the boat is located. If you are visiting by car, take Japan National Route 58 and from the Tomari Takahashi Intersection (泊高橋交差点) it is about 150m to the ocean. From the Tomarin "Kariyushi Urban Resort Naha" it is about 5 minutes on foot.
