About Toguchi Beach

Toguchi Beach is a natural beach located within Tomarigusuku Castle Park. It is a shallow beach with very clear water so small children can play even when the tide is pulling out. Please be aware that there are no designated safe swimming areas and so if you do choose to swim you should be careful. The beachside area is lined with a red tiled arbor where you can enjoy barbequing by the beachside. Barbeque reservations are also accepted from 11:00 to 22:00. It is a very popular spot where locals will come to enjoy a beach party while watching the sunset in the East China Sea.
This coastal zone is where the US forces landed on the main island of Okinawa on April 1, 1945, and on top of one of the hills in the park there is a monument to the US forces landing that was built with the hope for peace.

From the airport take Japan National Route 58 and head west toward Owan. At the Naha Bus Terminal you can take the 28 or 29 lines to the Owan Bus Stop.  The total travel time involved is about 1 hour. Head towards the oceanside Toguchi Community Center and it is right there. Free parking is available as well.
