Takamatsu is an area located in the eastern part of Kagawa prefecture. Besides the city f Takamatsu, it includes the cities of Higashi Kagawa, Sanuki, and Sakaide. The specialty of the area is Sanuki Udon, which is characterized by its thick noodles.
There are various sightseeing attractions, such as spots from which you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Seto Inland Sea like Yashima and Goshikidai, places where you can appreciate the beautiful nature in all four seasons like Ritsurin Garden, and spots related to history like Tamamo Park (Ruins of Takamatsu Castle), and Shikoku Mura Village. Also, you can take a ferry from Takamatsu to remote Ogijima and Megijima, where contemporary art festivals are held.
